Biography
Bio notes: Let Sirenhead know when he has wonderful, magical babies like himself.
By some stroke of fate, he awakened again. Seath found himself huddled on the floor of a cave, a blazing fire in the center warming his tiny body. He pulled himself closer, as close as he dared, still feeling chilled to the bone. He only shifted again when he heard the crunching of leaves, and saw a feathery creature in pink and purple hues bringing more wood for the fire. And food. He barely even remembered what food tasted like. She set it up cooking before addressing him.
"You're finally awake," the harpy said in her deep, melodic voice. It was somehow soothing.
"Did you rescue me?"
"Not exactly. But I did find some dragons who'd collected your frozen body and were planning to send you to the Flameweaver. I suppose you would've been warm enough then."
"Oh." He carefully tried to push himself up into a sitting position.
"Don't. You're still weak. It took months of spellwork to get you to this state."
"Months?" He let himself just continue resting by the fire. "How long was I asleep?"
"Mm. Actually, it's almost time for the Starfall Celebration."
"What!?" His eyes widened. "Isn't that... fall?"
"Yes. You were out for quite some time."
"... I see." What had happened, while he'd been frozen? He... was he really frozen all that time? He must've been....
She let him rest quietly, before giving him some food. "I know it's not your preference, but it's what I could find."
"No, it's... it's fine. Thanks." He gratefully took it, and started eating it. The warm food helped a lot.
They ate their meal in silence, before he eventually pushed himself up, straining himself far less this time. "Thank you, for saving me."
"Mm. You just... seemed special, I suppose."
"I did? Why?"
"Maybe it's that we have the same energy pulsing through us. It's been my best guess. But I just knew when I got near that I couldn't let them send you off."
"Oh." He was quiet for several moments. "I guess you have a point."
"You feel it, too?"
"I think so, yeah."
"Perhaps it was fate that brought us together, then." She gently picked at her feathers.
"Yeah. Maybe it was. Oh, by the way? My name is Seath. That's what my parents called me, anyway."
"Mm. I go by Drephi."
"I'm glad we met." He smiled.
She smiled back. "Yes. I am as well."
He thought for a few moments, before carefully suggesting, "If fate brought us together, then... we should stay together, right?"
"It's not like either of us have any pressing obligations that would get in the way. So yes. I think we should. At the very least, for now. Perhaps some day will come when we go our separate ways. But that day isn't today."
"Alright. Do you live here?"
"I travel around. This is just my current resting place."
"So we'll move again sometime?"
"Yes. But not until you're feeling completely better, unless circumstances force us to."
"Okay. You're much kinder than I was told beastclans were."
"Every single one of us is an individual. Just like dragons. Of course at least some of us are kind. Just like some dragons are cruel."
"Oh. That makes sense, actually."
She smiled. "Are you still cold?"
"Kind of, yeah. I don't think the chill will leave for a while."
"Then come here." She gentle scooped him up and wrapped him in her feathery wings. "I'll make sure you stay warm."
Oh. This was nice. He shifted and snuggled up against her. "Thank you. For everything."
"Of course. Are you tired?"
"Yeah. I think so." He thought for a moment before closing his eyes.
"Let's call it a night, okay? And we'll see how things are tomorrow."
"That sounds nice." It felt like a lifetime since he was snuggled up with someone like this. She was so warm and soft. He let out a yawn. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, little Seath. Rest well."
He laid there, thinking vague, fuzzy thoughts that eventually gave way to dreams. Whatever had happened while he was unconscious, he was glad he'd ended up here.
