Current lore notes
“notes wrote:
These are notes for myself! May be incomprehensible or contain “spoilers” for my lore
- No more serpentine loyalists
- The Red Diamond does have a mysterious sponsor though. Gave Banescales money when starting out. It’s still Madame
- Lotus is only company in lore
- AOF now “the red diamond”, fancy fire hotel/casino. Totally not involved in the mafia at all.
- Kjorai is a gaoler monster hunter (hunts beset). Very loyal and scientific still. Perhaps comes to #0045 for advice
- Palaeontology is still the same
- See new Bellatore storyline. Work that in!
- Omisha is also a key player - necromancer that Lotus wants to use to figure out the science behind necromancy and sell it. takes place before sponsor
- Isikalri fits into Attis’ lore with him being the one who burned down her clan
- Come up with something for my progens to do lol
- Crescent? With the warriors, but what’s her role?
- link circe into it somehow?
- Orva is related to Sponsor (Sponsor is her aunt?) - family name:
- Mafia is just out for money. link to lotus somehow??? (either helping or against)
- Sisterhood - involved with the Sponsor? Sponsor researches Sisterhood and finds out about snake god which she wants to summon, has the Sisterhood mostly eradicated with help of Mafia. Snake god has remains on plot, she needs archaeologists to find it
- the Sponsor is partially possessed by an eldritch snake god, that’s how she has control over the snakes. as part of the deal for allowing her to see through + control snakes (+ be immortal), she is trying to revive the god. the god is well known by the Sisterhood (one story is about Diana defeating the snake god and sending it to its current realm) so she is trying to eradicate threats such as the Sisterhood (who diana survives through + have knowledge on how to defeat the snake god) and other powerful beings who could try to take down the god (she is the one paying some of the mercenaries/monster hunters).
- omisha and that one nature girl are gfs. meet when omisha is brought in to revive snake god, ends up rescuing her
- a LOT of the lore is actually taking place in the past, except the “library”, that’s why Daedalus knows about it (it’s recorded) and the present day takes place in some weird magical dystopian future. At the end of the current lore arc, Daedalus finds out the snake god actually has been revived and meets him
lore timeline:
- diana, the goddess, defeats Ophidia, beastclans to rejoice. However, Ophidia lives and influences society subtly, eleven reawaken and dragons come about. Pre-history still filled with worshipers of Diana, but the cult eventually fades away, and the deities dislike diana so her presence is masked
- sisterhood founded
- kjorai is a monster hunter. link this??
- mafia dedicated to taking down sisterhood, for political/monetary reasons. is investigated.
- eclipse is a escapee from sisterhood purge, link to cygnus and bellatore
- red diamond funded by mafia
- tempest’s home was destroyed by attis. Now runs magical something, research into past deities, find out about snake god and summonings and magic lore. destroyed by shard, no defences left
- omisha is taken by lotus + tesla, use her to research necromancy and figure out the mechanics of it
- sponsor loses vision. begins to research mythology, desperate to find a cure. finds out about the snake god and contacts him. she is being possessed and is trying to unearth him
- snake god gets unearthed. the eleven go silent, this is luxalaber’s era of slaughter. world slowly gets worse and worse
- world taken over by inhabitable conditions. maybe like that one scp sun scenario. remaining dragons set up underground, library dragons find the magical academy place, take it over. make their mission to preserve the world’s knowledge
- dragons exposed to long either die or are possessed - birdbox kinda thing. Viper is possessed by the snake god, massive reveal at the end. Daedalus is immune as an automaton. snake god wants Daedalus to join him, has a great amount of respect for him, as a mortal who achieved immortality, and knows Daedalus is the only one with the power to stop him.

Old clan lore. - no longer accurate!
I edit this quote while I update the lore wrote on 2021-10-09 04:39:09:
Main lore
My progenitor, Lemon, founds the “Serpentine Alliance” along with my other progen, and two other mirrors. It’s essentially a secretive organisation dedicated to the concept of “justice”, of treating those who have been treated unfairly with kindness, and treating those who have been cruel with harsh punishments.
They occasionally rescue dragons who have nowhere else to go, and train them to become full-time members of the alliance.
Symbol of the Alliance is a Brass Torc, a coiled golden serpent that fits around the wearer’s neck/wrist/claw (depending on breed).
Somehow gain popularity? Figure out this bit further haha. A lot of rich clans are sponsors of/active in the alliance. It’s ran slightly like a charity and slightly like a group of rich vigilantes.
The Serpentine Alliance, after getting much richer, upgrades from an office in the Starfall Isles to a full-on headquarters located in the Starwood Strand. They have a full ballroom, library, corridors, etc. The place is pretty expansive and now professional. I imagine they now have charity auctions and events to raise money for expensive missions, but they also have sponsors, typically rich/influential dragons, who give them vast amounts of funding and thus have some sway over their decisions.
When the Banescales eggs are found, the organisation helps relocate young Banescales into Sornieth and gives them homes.
Tension rises after Lemon’s decision to support a group known as the “Sisterhood”, whom Lemon’s battle commander (a second in command who handles all matters related to fighting and war) disagrees strongly on, due to the Sisterhood’s reputation of misandry and hatred of the Eleven. Lemon argues that the Sisterhood have been unfairly persecuted and killed, and if not helped the entire group will go extinct. This causes a conflict within the organisation, some agreeing with Lemon, some agreeing with Crescent. Some sponsors begin to withdraw their money, not wishing to get associated with the wrong side, whilst others try to take advantage of the situation by donating more money and trying to suggest what the Alliance should do.
Soon after, five Banescales arrive at the Headquarters. They announce that the Serpentine Alliance helped them long ago, and after suddenly coming into a large sum of money (cough cough), they wish to start a business in the Ashfall Waste, but would need employees. Due to them being orphans, they know nobody except the very organisation that helped them in the first place. Thus, they offer the Serpentine Alliance members can come work at their new company, promising it will be a success. The entire thing seems like an obvious “no” but, after some persuasion from Crescent, Lemon decides they can stay until tomorrow evening, in which she will host a grand banquet to discuss and resolve all recent conflict. Whilst away from Lemon and her right-hand mirrors, Rakai - the leading Banescale - convinces Crescent of her plan. From there, Crescent speaks to various members in secret and persuades them to join with the Banescales, and then instructs them of what to do during the Banquet.
Banquet: all dragons associated with the Alliance (members, sponsors, donators, etc.) and the Banescales show up. Need to do some figuring out here, but in synopsis most of the Alliance members fly away from the Banescales, and Rakai kills someone?? The Serpentine Alliance is essentially broken, sponsors leave, and Lemon swears revenge.
…
The Banescales' business is a success. "The Ambassadors of Flame" organize/manufacture for war. They "own" various smaller businesses/clans which do the production, collection and assembly for supplies whilst the mother company contracts out said supplies to the highest bidder. The company supplies tools, armour and weaponry, but is also known to dabble in scientific/magical fields, in attempting to create new technology that only they can supply.
In order to investigate "potential profitable phenomena", the CEO has set up the Lightning-branch of the company. They investigate magical anomalies, spy on rival companies in Lightning and perform experiments to try and patent new weapons for use of the company.
The company is yet to have taken a side in the civil war, and instead supplies to whatever side bids the highest. The rebels tend to dislike them though, given the company's structure of owning various smaller companies.

Explaining the names of the clan:
Serpentine Alliance - Secretive organisation. Kinda like a charity, a group of vigilantes, and a rich person’s book club combined? Inspired by VFD (as a reference to my username)
“Serpentine” comes from their symbol being the brass torc (which is shaped like a serpent). A brass torc is given to every member.
Not sure where “Alliance” comes from, probably because it’s made up of lots of different clans and flights?
Ambassadors of Flame - Dragons who left the Serpentine Alliance to go to fire, though the dragons who persuaded them to come could be considered “Ambassadors”. So, the Serpentine Alliance probably cursed off those damn “ambassadors of the fire flight”! And the name sort of stuck. As the “ambassadors of flame” refers to a company in the Ashfall Waste, they’re typically known as “The Ambassadors” or “AoF”
Serpentine Loyalists - This one is pretty simple. These are the dragons who stayed when the Serpentine Alliance broke down, leaving only the “loyal” behind.

75 questions challengen- only doing lore related ones/skipping repeats
For: Ambassadors of Flame
1. What Flight is your clan?
Fire
2. Why did they choose this Flight?
The founders were young Banescales, and decided that the Ashfall Waste was the most profitable place to set up their business.
3. Have they been loyal to other Flights before this? Or will they never move?
Some dragons were previously loyal to an organisation known as the Serpentine Alliance. (Suggested to read lore above for full explanation)
4. What would be the deciding factor in a move, if the clan had to?
The clan would move if it wasn’t profitable to work in the Ashfall Waste, most likely to Lightning but it would depend on the situation. Even so, many would still consider Fire their “true” flight and would return if ever possible.
5. Is the clan spiritual and highly loyal to their deity? Are they indifferent?
The Banescales are very loyal to the Flamecaller and hold her in high regards, but also see her as a somewhat distant figure. They would pray to her, and have shrines to her, but the idea of actually meeting her would seem impossible to them.
Non-fire members in the clan would be loyal to the clan, but wouldn’t idolise the Flamecaller as the others do.
6. How does the clan view those from different Flights? Are they welcoming to all dragons, or suspcious of newcomers?
The leading Banescales are happy to welcome any to their clan if they will be useful for the company. In fact, they even have a branch of the company located in Lightning.
