“Well now, it’s mighty fine to meet you. Anything I can help you with, darlin’?” Truly, there’s not much call for an inn in the tiny town where Hanesh lives. It’s just one tiny Main Street, a general store, some houses with the patchwork of repairs and embellishments that comes with being passed down through many generations. A single road cuts through the town, with nothing much else for miles in either direction. Didn’t stop Hanesh from building himself an inn anyway. Locals just call it Hanesh’s place, and the few travelers passing through town tend to call it The Inn. It’s more than an inn, really. It’s got the bar in front, thick comfy cushions scattered at low tables, with plenty of local drinks and even some from out of town when they’re lucky enough to see a merchant caravan. Then there’s the kitchen in back, Hanesh or a friend cooking up enough to feed the whole town. It’s a halfway house, rooms offered up practically for free to those who might need it. Really, it’s the town’s social hub, the place you go when you’re feeling down and lonely. Somewhere you can always find a friend. It ain’t much, Hanesh always says, but sharing what I’ve got is all I can do, so I better do it. Ask anyone else in town, and they shake their heads. That boy. Changed the whole town for the better and won’t hear a word of praise for it. ♥ HIRAAS (his love) Hanesh considers himself lucky to be able to lend a hand to any lost traveler, but Hiraas? Now that’s a kind of lucky you only get once in a lifetime.
