13086.png 		fiNcovn.png Lathlin grew up in the Ferelden circle from a young age, likely stolen from a Dalish clan. Her name is of Dalish origin, roughly translated it means to love your kin. Sadly she knows nothing of her people except what she could learn from her peers and the library. Of course, it was quite lacking in books on elven history, and most of the ones provided were written by humans who likely embellished and exaggerated. From then on she always had a special interest in Dalish history and would always try and find more information.

In her early years at the Circle, another elf was brought in. She was taken from the Denerim alienage. Lathlin came to learn her name was Shea and they became close friends very quickly. It was rare to find one without the other. Lathlin spent a lot of her free hours asking Shea what she knew about the Dalish! Of course, elves from the alienage didn't truly know much about them other than the stories passed down. 'Do what you can to remember the old ways.'

During the time of the Blight, the rules in their tower became more strict due to rumors of blood magic. A couple years later, Shea was turned tranquil without any explanation. Templars lied and outright refused information to her. Wynne was the only person who comforted her. Her distaste for the templars grew tenfold and from then on she became arrogant and bitter toward them. She acted out and it got her in trouble more often than not. The older templars threatened to give her the same fate as ‘the other knife ear’ if she acted out anymore. Something made her want to continue and test them, but she always thought of Shea. Reading and practicing her magic with Wynne were really the only things that kept her alive.

Come time of the fall of the Circle (Age: 18), Lathlin had been able to hide after barely surviving an encounter with a rage demon that tried to tempt her. The entire fall of the circle was a very traumatic experience and rooted a deep hatred for blood mages. Thanks to Wynne and the Hero of Ferelden she escaped to the foyer where the other young apprentices were held. By some luck (because i say so 🤪) she managed to leave the Circle with the Hero and Wynne, parting ways after a few weeks of travel. She learned most of what she knew from Wynne and saw her as a motherly figure in her life. Parting ways was hard but she had a long road ahead of her.

For years she traveled, searching for information on tranquility and looking for Dalish clans so that she might find more information on where she came from or any sort of history she could get out of them. She hopes that maybe she could learn anything about undoing tranquility so she could save her girlfriend.
