The sound of angry undistinguishable whispers and fabric flopping drew Furgee's attention.
What in the world could that be?
She wondered as she followed the sound.

Then she gave a short laugh that caused the poor shroud to glare at her.
Her cat Roast had it completely it at his mercy, purring and rubbing his head against his newest catch.

"Roast?" Furgee scolded.

Roast looked up and wrapped his tail around a flapping fold.
His little face very proud.

"Let it go."

Roast thought about it for a second before calmly standing and stretching off it.
Jumping lightly onto Furgee's wing.

The Inquisitive Shroud fluttered indignantly away.

Where had Roast gone?
Furgee wondered as she searched the lair.

She stopped and stared at a statue that wasn't there a moment ago.
And on its base was Roast.

Looking very please.

Furgee tilted her head, "How long are you going to keep that one?"

Roast purred before closing his eyes.

Furgee laughed. "A while I guess."

Furgee groaned as she looked at Roast.

"Aren't you taking this too far?" She asked him.

Roast continued to purr as the painting stroked his head.

Furgee rolled her eyes. "Well who am I to deny you affection? Do let it go when it wants freedom, alright?"

Roast began needing the air with his paws.

Furgee nodded to the painting. "Thank you."

It nodded back

Furgee realized she hadn't seen Roast in quite a while and that everything was much too silent.
Worryingly silent.

"Roast?" She called all through the lair and den.
Ignoring the rolled eyes and smirks.

Yes she knew he'd be back.
That's not what worried her.
It's what he was doing now that worried her.
Especially with all the odd creatures flocking to the area.

She heard the click of glass against metal and his purr.

She looked up and groaned.

"Roast! No! Bad! Let that chandelier go."

Roast blinked down at her.
Making no move to obey.
And really it would be a rather long drop.

Sighing she stretched out her wings and flew up to them.

Gently pulling Roast free she continued to scold him as she glided to the floor.

When she landed and looked up the chandelier was gone.

Roast had been laying on that telescope for over an hour.
Shifting his body mass as the telescope tried to dislodge him.

To Furgee it looked like they were both enjoying themselves enormously.
So she did nothing to stop this odd game of bucking bronco.

Suddenly all three eyes snapped to a nearby wall and they froze.
Staring at it.

Furgee followed their gazes but could see nothing.

And yet the hair on Roast's back was raising and the telescope had begun to shake.

Furgee looked again at the wall.
After the week they'd had...
She gently picked up Roast and his newest friend and carried them from the room.

Furgee looked at the bouncing, trembling, jerking package in confusion.

Opening the note she blinked.

One of the familiars wanted to stay with them?

Gingerly she pulled the string.

Out popped the little telescope.

Roast started purring as soon as he saw it and quickly climbed onto its back.

Furgee smiled "Oh, so now you have more of an excuse to not move. Hello little one. Welcome back. I think I'll name you Note. Roast and Note. What do you think?"

They were already off exploring.

"I hear no objection." Furgee shook her head with a smile. "Welcome to the family, Note."
