Biography

Alternaria was originally a slave, one that had been subjected to horrifying treatment, until Esmeralda took over and had executed a few nobles, which included Alternaria's master. When Esmeralda gave the slaves a few options, most chose her first offer, which was to accept freedom and leave her kingdom. However, Alternaria saw no point in leaving, nor in the other options. Instead of the options that were offered she chose to remain a slave, this time to Esmeralda. She actually enjoyed her new life for a time, until Esmeralda declared she would no longer serve her, to which the young Fae panicked. However, she was introduced to her soon-to-be mate Lamp, Esmeralda's son.

To Alternaria, it was beyond an honor she felt she deserved, she questioned it for weeks before the day came to meet him. She had heard Lamp was disfigured, which is why he wore armor, and that he was sickly which explained the scarf. Yet in her eyes he was perfection. Instead of striving for beauty as most of Esmeralda's court often would attempt to achieve, Alternaria sought disfigurement to make herself hideous, hence her poisonous garb. She could not speak due to her previous master having removed her vocal-chords, so she showed her new mate her devotion through action.

If to be beside him without upsetting him meant sacrificing her gifted beauty, then she would destroy herself for him.
