Biography

Elegant and graceful as she flies, Aria is not just what she seems to be. Despite her many eyes showing her loyalty to the Windsinger, she was not born into his domains, not having stepped into his territory once in her childhood. Originally from the lightning's flight, Aria hatched from a peculiar egg- its sparks far weaker and dimmer than any other egg of her flight. No one quite knew what to make of the odd egg, even thinking it would die soon without even hatching, some older dragons telling her mother to give up before she could be disappointed and hurt by the already expected results, before she could add more pain to the loss of her mate. Despite what everyone kept telling her, Aria's mother refused to give up on her child. She would keep trying and taking care of the egg until it hatched, no matter what.

Her efforts were rewarded, her hatchling surviving despite how weak and vulnerable she looked, something that puzzled everyone and could only be attributed to a miracle or their deity taking pity on the child. Her mother raised her with all the love and care she could offer, always watching over her and ensuring she would be safe and out of danger. Despite the surprise that her hatching had been after coming from such a fragile looking egg, Aria did not come out of that difficult time without any side effect. The hatchling was sickly and weak, not even able to get out of the lair without risking seriously injuring herself- or worse. Her mother was trying anything in her power in order to help her, but nothing seemed to work. It was as something was sapping all her energy out of her.

Now, what most didn't know about the misterious mate disappeared long before Aria was born, was that they weren't one of the Stormcatcher's dragons. The unknown dragon came from somewhere else, somewhere across the water flight's sea, where the winds were strong and untamed. Growing desperate, her mother decided on her last resort to save her daughter's life. Without telling anyone, on one quiet night, she took Aria, enough supplies to last her the journey, anything else deemed necessary and left. Together, they would travel across the fire's domain, even across the dangerous sea if needed, to reach the Windswept Plateau. She would beg to the Windsinger for her daughter if she had to, if that was what had to be done to let her child live and not just survive.

To her surprise, despite being from a different flight, despite not even being sure if her mate was loyal enough to their deity for this to work, the Windsinger saved Aria. Winds and whirlwinds grew stronger and stronger, breathing new energy and life into her weakened body, her once dull eyes turning into a vibrant green, her true magic awakening after so long. She had become one with the wind itself now, the eyes now lined at her sides a proof of it.

Now that her child was safe and were she truly belonged, her mother knew it was time to let her go, for the wind cannot be chained and held back. Aria was now free to fly, to enjoy her new life that had been denied to her for so long. Promising her mother to be careful and come back to see her whenever she could, she opened her wings and let the wind carry her away to see new lands, to find the other spirits of the wind like her and finally feel at home.
