Casper is a dragon in denial: he's dead, but he hasn't yet admitted it to himself. He can't even remember how he died, though Harvest has been able to figure that out; Casper ate poisonous berries when he was out in the forest one day. But instead of passing on, Casper woke up and drifted over to the Soncha Kapa clan, his spirit seemingly attracted to Harvest's connection with the dead.

The dragons of Soncha Kapa have tried to tell him about his state of unliving, but Casper insists he feels completely fine. He's always been a cheerful dragon, seeing the best in a situation. That was how the Soncha Kapa gained Casper, the friendly ghost.
