When his egg was laid, he was one of twins. But fate threw a curveball; a typhoon raged that night and the waves claimed both eggs. For six days their mother (Echo) searched, begging Stormcatcher and the ghost of Tidelord to spare her family. In a twisted sense of irony, a lifeless fae washed ashore, bearing the similar markings of their father (Voltage). Immediately, his older siblings and parents rushed to him, and attempted to resuscitate him. A faint pulse was detected, but it was fading. Desperate, his family tried one last ditch effort to save their newest member, and requested the assistance of Nihilego.
The Spawn of the Sea conjured her power, lightning surging across oceans and seas galore. With one touch of her claw, the little fae’s body seized, and went limp. Seconds after, his eyes opened, his primal eyes opened. His family was taken aback, yet relieved all at once. But something was off. Unnamed, as of yet, the young fae was nearly emotionless as his family hugged him, as if unsure of whom these welcoming dragons were. Echo held him tight, tears streaming down her face as she realized the plight of her son. She waved her claws in front of his eyes, and swallowed hard when his eyes didn’t blink. He couldn’t see, at least not in this world anyway…

As his family came to terms with the gravity of the situation, Echo went along and named her son. Deuce inherited a name indicative of his special arrival as the second primal within the clan; the first blind primal in centuries….
