zATHnSI.png Whipped cream straight from the can. A quick tune on the piano. Soft, warm candlelight. Hand knitted wool scarves, made with love to be warm rather than showy. Simplicity does not mean less.

Bright light and daisies, a warm breeze in summer; things to remember when things fall asunder.

And no matter his name being a little solemn, this pale dragon is far from it, and he’s the one ensuring others remember that a brighter day lurks on the horizon. He’s not a difficult dragon, finding as much comfort in a bare-bones campsite as he would a lavish den, and the material sides of life never appealed to him. It’s the content that matters, that flutter of joy that beats against the inside of one’s ribs when the universe decides to show it’s most beautiful sides.

Not even a thousand treasures can measure up to something like that, this he knows as surely as he knows the skies are above and the ground below.

Many dragons would go their entire lives without being able to achieve that simple appreciation for the little things. Solemnity has been that way, appreciating what’s around him, for as long as he can remember. Even when the world around him would be cruel, he’d find a reason to smile, and he’ll consider his existence a success if he can show just one other dragon that same love for life. A love for breathing in the damp, invigorating air after heavy rainfall, for giving another a reason to laugh, and for creating a world that would be better for those that come later.

It would be a lie to claim it wasn’t frustrating at times. No matter that he actively tries to be a dragon of joy, trying to pass that along can be tedious beyond belief. Doing the right thing was never easy.

The flowers help, thankfully, serving as his little beacon of relaxation. If someone asked, he wouldn’t be able to pinpoint when he got into the whole chaos of collecting and pressing flowers, but it’s ended up being one of the few things he doesn’t share with everyone else. Given how open he is about himself, he considers it to be very fair keeping this private- what would anyone else get out of seeing his many books of flowers anyway? Impressive, without a doubt, but objectively worthless.

Even with that extremely rare specimen he’d gotten last week-

No matter, of course. When all is said and done, Solemnity is a simple soul with a simple purpose- make a difference. Everything else he can surely figure out as he goes.

Him! His lore gave a massage and covered me with a blanket. The coding is nice too, it really suits him.

your dragons are all lovely but I have to say I teared up reading Solemnity’s bio. I can relate to his purpose so much, he really is the sweetest guy

They seem like a good friend. The type of person that's very dignified and so seems a bit hard to approach at first, but is reliable and loyal, someone you can depend on. I feel like they'd have good conversations too, rarely boring.
