Once the leader of an underground syndicate known as the Webwings, Taro continues to hold his head high despite the collapse of all he worked for. The organization was nameless but never needed a title, his borrowers knowing well who was watching and counting down the time for repayment.

His early life is not well known nor is he compliant in speaking about it, finding it a dull topic. He often jokes he was born old and certainly has been in the underground business for some time. He has no known family but many under his wing see him as a grandfather figure.

He took Janus in after "acquiring" his contract during a dispute with another syndicate. Surprised by Janus’ abrasive attitude, Taro found him to be a rather rough but invested student. If not for Taro, Janus’ cryomancy would certainly lack its potency or perhaps more so his moral reservations against using it. He knew he chose well with the fae when the little dragon destroyed his antler, something Janus still keeps as a souvenir.
