Biography
Pale and sickly, that was the first thing that came to Sundrop’s mind when she saw the young Spiral enter her den. She had heard that the new member-to-be wasn’t in the healthiest condition, but this was absurd. Who would send such a sick child to live so far away from home?
As if reading her thoughts, the child shook his head and simply said: “Don’t worry about me, it’s not nearly as bad as it looks. I just have a fever, that’s all.” Sundrop found it hard to believe; he looked a lot worse than how someone with a fever would look. She decided to drop the issue for now and started with her questions.
“So, what’s your name?” She asked. The child seemed to hesitate for a bit, before answering. “Cl-Cloudhopper. He seemed to hesitate a bit. No harm in affirming, Sundrop supposed. “Cloudhopper?” He nodded. “That’s a very nice name. So, where was your old clan located?”
The questioning went on for a while like this, with Sundrop asking questions in her standard, monotone voice and the Spiral giving short and simple answers. She was just about to conclude the interview when Cloudhopper suddenly started to cough profusely, with a pained expression on his face. Sundrop immediately rushed over to him, all while panicking heavily. What was happening? How did she make the coughing stop? Is this something that happens often? She decided to take him outside, where there was more fresh air. Maybe this would help?
After a roughly a minute the coughing finally subsided. Cloudhopper still had the same pained expression on his face, but it seemed to have softened a bit. “I’m sorry you had to see that.” He said in a hoarse tone of voice. “Does this happen often?” Sundrop’s face was still pale from the shock. “Unfortunately yes. It’s nothing you should worry about, really. Just some light coughs.” Light? If those were light coughs she didn’t even want to think about how the heavy ones would be like.
After composing herself, Sundrop stated: “Well, I think that you can stay here for the time being. You can ask Pegasus where your den is, who can be found if you go left and enter the first den you see.” Her voice wasn’t all there, and it was clear that she was still thinking about the fiasco that had happened just a few minutes ago. Cloudhopper simply nodded, and went to go see the Skydancer secretary.
“What an odd child… I hope he’s doing okay. He acted as if the coughing was a normal occurrence, that can’t be right…”
