Iduna is the soul catcher, twin sister to Neya. Born as one, and serving a same goal, the twins work together in the planes that separate the mortal world from that of death. It is a plane that kisses many worlds, from the realm of the gods and exaltees, to the spirits, to an almost-nirvana and an unjustly painful hell. Iduna travels the planes, hunting for lost souls, trapped between planes, or caught with baggage. Like a shepherd, she guides them to the little cottage where her sister works. Her sister binds them with her destiny bonds, and meticulously works through their pain until they are ready to be freed.

It takes many days for the ghost to speak his pain. Listening to it chills my blood. He suffers each memory, a rush of violence, terror, selfishness, and brutality that he feels again and again. Most ghosts pass quickly, shedding their sins like coats at the end of a long day. But Neya has held on to this one, sensing something I cannot pick up on. She has refused to let him move on. I find the suffering to be inexcusable, a torment one should not suffer alone. His life was one of health, of curing ills while his body withered. It was a short, yet potent task, taken early by a virus. Neya says his health was a curse, a shaman’s cancer on his body. To undo the curse would be to unleash the pains he has absorbed from his patients. I do not understand, but I let my sister work. To release the pain into this land would be to invite troubles my sister and I cannot soothe. I understand this, and I set to work hunting more troubled souls. I am the catcher and she is the guide. This is the soul of Meymo.
