_____Obsidian is a kind soul - the sort of dragon to who takes under her wing all those who have never known a proper family, or whose friends have turned treacherous. She was raised in a very much like-minded nature clan of the nomadic variety; they shared their supplies and camp with any dragon who asked, never calling for anything in return. Obsidian loved her clan, but the uncertain nature of their next camp, next meal, and overall safety of the clan, made her nervous - she was never one for the wanderer's lifestyle, and left for her search as soon as she had reached adulthood, hoping to find her charge in the form of something stable (ruins, perhaps).
_____Obsidian walked for weeks through the Viridian Labyrinth's endless jungle, never feeling drawn to anything, and beginning to doubt her plan as the days went on. After all, this search could be done at her clan's side, could it not? There wasn't much difference between this endless journey and the other. Obsidian grew weary in her trek and decided to make a small camp, to spend a few days there, hoping to recover some of her exhausted energy supply. Taking great care to keep everything very neat, Obsidian began rearranging the loose rocks, fallen logs, and other movable foliage to craft a suitable den - she succeeded, managing to craft a sort of mock cave with a large overturned log leaning on an impressive boulder, some vines and leaves arranged along the top to give the area underneath some privacy. Content with her work, Obsidian laid down and slept in her new den.
_____With the light of day streaming through the leaves, Obsidian woke. She yawned and stretched, readying herself for the day's work (hunting, mostly), and quickly exiting the shelter - however, upon emerging from its darkness, Obsidian noticed an unexpected addition to her camp: what appeared to be a pile of medium-toned red and blue scales and tanned leather. Confused, she approached the pile gently trying to push it, believing that she might find a to who the pile's owner was. To Obsidian's surprise, the pile doesn't fall apart, but instead moves all together, quickly leaping up - what faced her was not, in fact, a simple pile of materials, but a fae! Startled, Obsidian hurriedly stumbled back, nearly falling over herself as the fae appears to calm from its panic (having been startled awake). The fae alighted back on the ground, staring ahead at Obsidian, moving its frills excitedly before stilling, appearing frustrated, instead. Slowly, it begins to speak in a slightly broken spoken language, introducing himself as Raspberry, and explaining that he was looking for a clan to join, as his own had too many mouths to feed and not enough territory.
_____Obsidian, throughout his speech, was beginning to feel drawn towards Raspberry as though by an invisible string. She was confused for a moment before an explanation struck her - he was her charge! Thrilled by this epiphany, Obsidian quickly tried to explain to him the concept of a charge (having assumed he wouldn't know of it), to which he seemed rather puzzled, but ultimately happy to apparently have such a unique bond with this dragon already. From there, the two of them talked for hours about the logistics of starting a clan together, eventually coming to the conclusion that right there, in the camp that they'd met (as it was far enough away from Raspberry's and had enough unclaimed space around it to support many dragons), would be their clan, which they would jointly rule.
_____As time passed, their decision that day remained true - they built a proper, long-term camp from that very spot, and recruited many dragons to their clan, picking up all those who'd been chased from their homes, those who'd never had a home, and those who were simply tired of travel (as Obsidian had once been). Slowly the clan began expanding, more and more dragons joining with more and more unique skill sets, developing into a clan mostly comprised of artisans, always willing to help each others' craft. Obsidian and Raspberry are proud of what they created and have never regretted for a day their meeting.
