Gloss was the second hatchling the Scorchtalon Clan kept in months.

Considers Owl a friend because she was hatched shortly before them, but Owl finds them annoying and clingy, though feels a sense of responsibility for them like an older sibling. Gloss hangs around her despite Owl rolling her eyes and loudly asking if they have anything better to do than follow her around. Owl is the only dragon remotely close to their age, so they don't have much choice.

Would like to be close to their birth parents, but both are busy. They were created from Blackout's DNA combining magic and were raised by Tortoise. They consider her their mother and spend time in the nursery with her taking care of hatchlings, though hardly any ever stay in the clan. Gloss gets attached to them, feeling like an older sibling, so hatchlings constantly exiting the clan is a little hard for them to deal with.

When they can work up the courage to, they spend a lot of time at the edge of the territory alone by the beach. Their familiar is a cloud chaser and because of this they're very interested in dolphins.

Very quiet but hovers around other dragons uncertainly, too unsure to spend much time alone. They get too nervous to contribute much, which leads to other dragons (mostly Owl) feeling uncomfortable. Owl talks a lot fast and is always busy, so Gloss unsettles her, but it's not Gloss's fault.

Color shifting scales. They don't ever become completely different colors, they're always green range, but they lighten, darken, and brighten depending on Gloss's mood. Usually they stay the same colors as birth since they try to regulate their emotions more than other dragons. Their emotions are very repressed, unfortunately, though it's something they're working on now with friends and their mom.

Perhaps not technically friends with Forest (Gloss isn't really sure) but hangs around them to watch them tend to their gardens. Forest isn't fond of other dragons mostly on the basis that they talk too much, but Gloss is quiet and doesn't ask anything of them, so they don't mind the pearlcatcher's company. Forest taught them a few words in sign language. Gloss has a hard time with the hand signals so they don't use it much, really only around Forest, who doesn't mind that they mess up sometimes.

They also spend time around Sikora the skydancer, feeling like they can relate to him through both of them having difficult to deal with anxiety. Sikora helps them out with coping skills- breathing techniques, meditation, grounding, that sort of thing. Because they're close with Sikora, they also are close with Sikora's husband Cocoa. They spend time in the kitchens watching quietly and helping when needed as Cocoa makes food for the clan, and Cocoa gives them bits and pieces of food for them on the basis of 'taste-testing'. This has evolved into Gloss actually working in the kitchens. They enjoy it a lot! (They also work with Forest in gardening)

Their personal favorite dishes to make are usually made entirely from vegetables. They're also very good at creating teas, from ones that amp you up to ones that calm you down enough to sleep.
