With an imposing form and impressive background-- Aster is directly descended from two of Light's first children-- it is easy for many dragons to feel intimidated by the Imperial. However, he tries to make himself and his lair as welcoming as possible, immensely appreciating the company of any dragon that visits him and always willing to lend an ear and some advice. Despite the age and status of his parents in relation to Sorneith's history, Aster is relatively young and without power or standing. While still celebrated, his hatching was not necessary to ensure the survival of his parents' bloodline, with them having had countless nests before the one he emerged from, followed by countless since. As such, while still expected to act in a way that would reflect well on his parents, he enjoyed a childhood free from the pressure of a predetermined path, but also without much of the attention of his parents or their clans.

Choosing his own path led Aster to Gestalt. A less impressive clan than the one he hailed from, for certain; while lovingly dug out, Gestalt's intricate tunnels are nothing in terms of aesthetics when compared to a castle. There is no strict order or roles, and most ideas of a hierarchy exist only in the heads of the most ambitious dragons. But every dragon had time for everyone else. Traveling dragons were offered a den for the night and a meal with the rest of the clan. No one looked twice if Aster slurped his soup. And he realized he was home.
