Dusk fell over the forum. The moment the sun set behind the horizon, two moons came out of hiding, shining their brilliance into the middle of the old circle. This was a time for magic, a time for unbridled power and wildlings full of renewed energy- a time for that which cannot be explained or comprehended, that which ordinarily only exists in the deepest recesses of the mind. This was when she appeared to us.

To our eyes, it seemed she stood upon the murky water of the crescent- her claws swept lightly across the pool, without even so much as a ripple. I should mention, perhaps, that we had chosen this night as a celebratory moment- the entire lair was out in the forum then, dancing, playing games and telling stories of all kinds. This was our anniversary, mine and Tarin's, of meeting each other and forming the Demonix six years before. When the sky began to darken, we all stopped in our tracks to watch the moons, unaware of what mysteries they might bring.

As she drew closer to my end of the crescent, her body began to take a visible form- that of a Wildclaw, nearly as large as myself and standing tall. She stepped onto the cold stone floor, and, eyes closed, breathed in deep of the air around us. Then she opened her wild green gaze and looked at me, or perhaps through me, I will never know for sure. Her scales were the deepest midnight hue I've ever seen, and blue lights flowed like a river across her body, mesmerizing me and holding me still. Then, she turned to the left, where little Chosen was sitting open-mouthed with his slimy eyesockets wide as could be.

"It's been a long time, Shadowbinder. I hope you'll accept me back into your ranks."

When she spoke, Chosen's eyes shone with a brilliant violet light. He said something in a language I did not understand, then smiled. The clan Skycat, Sky, who had previously stuck by the little Coatl, flew up and around the Wildclaw's head, doing wild tricks in the air before finally settling down by her foot. The strange dragon turned to me next.

"Pay no mind to me, fellow voidling. I am simply here to help your cause, but for now, we shall continue to celebrate."
