Ribos was born into a savage pack of mirrors that roamed the Abiding Boneyard. His birth-pack travelled around, stealing rare things and reselling them in a black market fashion to gain a profit. This illegal activity often resulted in casualties to both their pack and their targets. This lifestyle earned them many enemies and one night, Ribos found himself being stolen away from his mother along with one of the nature eggs they'd stolen not long before. He was terrified, especially after he was left in a hole by the large dark furred dragon named Kai. His cries had been muffled by his captor and by the time he was free to shout his lungs out for help, he was much too far for any dragon to hear and come to his aid. Not long after, the egg that had been taken hatched and he gained a new 'sister' the gaoler decided to call Soraka. Ribos tried to be friendly towards his new mirror sibling but as days went on, it became clear she saw Kai as a parent rather than their kidnapper. Sure, he stopped by to feed them and take care of their general needs- even letting them out occasionally until he got tired of Ribos trying to run off. Despite being stuck in the pit, Soraka continued seeing the good in the gaoler despite Ribos' attempts to tell her how horrible the dragon was. Constantly, she'd berate him for trying to escape and trying to get him to 'relax'. Hate for her began building in him but he tried to give her another chance to see his truth. Once they were big enough, Ribos managed to finally climb out. Their captor had left them for days and he immediately decided they'd been left there to die- odd given Kai's clear attempts to keep them alive and well but that didn't cross his mind. He wanted revenge on the gaoler. Ribos tried to encourage Soraka to join him in gathering their own pack to hunt down their captor but despite all his words... she once more refused to join him in getting vengeance. His hate warped mind took this abandonment as an act against him and swore to get revenge on her as well. He formed his own pack and made a pale mirror named Pulse his second in command. Not long after, he became mates with another mirror named Adanne. She was one of their best hunters and managed to tame a familiar rather quickly- truly he saw potential in her and believed their hatchlings would be just as great as they were. The pair had two hatchlings and he made his son, Talamir his heir. Tragedy struck his pack during their search, angering Ribos at the loss of a good chunk of his pack. On top of that, one of those who remained and his own daughter, Della, joined Soraka's 'pack'- more like an abomination given it was made up of more than just mirrors. This betrayal however lead to him having more faith in his son's loyalty, as Talamir killed Della like the traitor she was and even managed to poison Soraka. Of course... this did make his a little paranoid as well. He didn't want his own son to become too power hungry as to kill him and take over. The pride and paranoia continued to battle it out as they continued to hunt down Soraka and her pack along with make their way back to the location Kai was said to have last been: a prison. His family expanded with Talamir having his own hatchlings and them having their own as well. He also had another nest and named a second heir should something happen to his first- not that he was as proud of this secondary heir. He had to remain strong at all times, as he felt showing weakness could put him at risk of one of his own kin dethroning him. Some had already gone mysteriously missing. But his pack was growing and Soraka's group was on the retreat. Everything was falling into place. They made it to the prison, Soraka leading her pack right to it in hopes of getting help. Ribos hoped to take out two birds with one stone and went for the final attack. He wanted to finish this once and for all. This plan quickly fell apart. While it was easy to take down Soraka's poor excuse for a pack, the prison guards were much harder to get around- impossible even. Ribos never even made it inside. Around him, his pack was falling apart, either fleeing or dying around him. In the end he barely made it out with his own life. He was taken prisoner along with what remained of his kin: his son Talamir, and his grandson Aravi. The salt in the wound was that Soraka felt sorry for him. The final kick in the gut was that he was now imprisoned in the same place Kai was. Forced to be aware the gaoler was somewhere in the building.
