Taken from squalor and brought to lands plentiful, Framework had the settings for a good life under the tutelage of an adept healer brandishing eyes of Arcane. She was a fast and dedicated learner, eager to soak in all knowledge that was laid upon her. If ever there could be a perfect student, the once young Skydancer was it. Though even with her dedication to healing, even with her ever expansive curiosity to learn all the Arcane Dragons would offer her, it was never enough to turn away sneering maws at her lineage; at the corrupted blood that ran her veins. At times, Framework was convinced the dragons around her saw some beast instead of the scholar she aimed to become. Her mentor, a wise and kind Pearlcatcher that was only a handful of years her senior, kept her sheltered from the snide comments and spat abuse. Never once did Framework's ears catch wind of the intolerance that others held towards her when Dreamchaser was at her side. Inevitably, the pair became inseparable and Framework found that the world would melt away of its own volition even when the thought of her teacher came to mind. The sour looks and snide remarks seemed easily tolerable if it meant she could remain with Dreamchaser. Cowardice ran thick through Framework, naught spoke of the affections held but she dearly held hope of their reciprocation as the years filtered by and friendship bloomed into unspoken more. She was truly happy. Was. Like all good things, they end. And for Framework, it was a bloody end that tore her life into shreds and left her vulnerable to more than just the elements. A trip sealed the end of her life within the Arcane lands that she had come to call home. A small trip to the border that rested upon the cusp of the Scarred wastelands for uncommon herbs and resources for the younger healers to study and learn upon. It should have been a simple and fast task to hand for someone such as Framework or Dreamchaser. A simple task if the pair had not distracted the other nor wandered too far from their group towards the ashen and sickly plagued land that rested not 100 feet away. A part of Framework still held sparks of curiosity to the land she was born in, the land that had marked her an outcast among her allies within the clan-- Too close and too fast. Before Framework could truly react, fate reared its toothy maw and snatched Dreamchaser from her life leaving little but bloodied feathers and remnants of her love--... Her life. It spiraled when the group found her, hysterical at the loss. A dragon born to the Plague, the loss of their own to this cursed landscape--... It was so easy to blame the blameless, to tear Framework down from her pedestal and cast her out back to the lands she 'belonged' to. Barely scraping by, she found a pack of outcasts in a poorly organized group; somewhere she could blend in, hide and recover. All she had to do was be strong enough to survive. 'What a joke.' The group splintered and Framework found herself upon the weaker end once more but she had never been able to turn away help to those who needed it and this group of estranged individuals certainly needed her. It gave her purpose, a focus to fill the void... It would do. |
