Mithra

It was a special day for Mithra. Although she was still a hatchling, a messenger from another clan arrived and asked for her. When she arrived, she saw her parents talk to a purplish Nocturne. After a while her mother told her to come to her. She got introduced to the Nocturne, she’s called Diva and is the messenger of a water clan, the so called Volcanic Oracles. She shall go with her to teach them the ways of the Light Flight and to act as an ambassador.

Mithra was honored to fulfill such an important task in a foreign land for her, but still a hatchling she was also a bit frightened. How would it be there, would there be other dragons like her? The Dawnlings were not just part of the Light-Flight, they ARE light.

It was hard to leave her home, her family, her siblings. She tried to be brave and not to look back, but as she flew away it was clear for her, that her new life would be completely different. She smelled the huge body of fresh water before she even noticed it. It was and almost endless body of water, getting bigger with each beat of her wing. And there, at the border to the sunbeam ruins, four Dragons were waiting for the two travelers.

The sand of the beach was wet under Mithras feet and although she already was the size of the two spirals in front of her, she still was a bit intimidated by the two Bogsneaks that stood there, waiting for her. She was told a few things about the clan, the two female dragons standing there are those in charge within the clans territories, they are called Scylla and Charybdis. While Scylla seemed to be friendly and greeted her with a nice smile, Charybdis looked at her with an almost evil grin, mumbling strange things, the only things she could remember later would have something to do with her, and losing the light. She was really confused when she took that bottle from the male Spiral and drank it. It was a strange taste, and an even stranger feeling. For a second her vision blurred, and the air in her lungs felt wrong, but it only lasted seconds. With only a short nod of her head the Charybdis turned and went back into the water, Scylla smiled a last time at her and left with the one who gave her the potion. When she looked for Diva, the Nocturne was also gone. Only the second Bogsneak remained. With a short nod he turned around to the water. After a moment Mithra followed him. He stopped near a giant tidal pool, as she thought first, but it has also an underwater entrance to the sea of a thousand currents. At first she thought she would get lost here, but regarding the size she would have when she was fully grown, it would make a good spot for her. With a short nod, the silent Bogsneak left her here.

She settled, tried to make herself comfortable, but she was alone. Strange scents, strange sounds, and she felt strange. The pure colors of light were fading, she could see that she developed markings...faint at first, but what made her a Dawnling faded... she got scared.
