Lore

Light’s undying companion

One of the first Imperials created by the Lightweaver, Leeuin devoted his life to the Lightweaver. As soon as he could, Leuuin joined a group of warriors who fought for the Lightweaver. In one of their most difficult battles, Leuuin was slain. But he was not the only one. The battlefield was swamped with the corpses of his kin, drowning the ground in torrents of blood. He laid there dying, nothing but praise for the Lightweaver mumbled incoherently as he lost consciousness, content with what he had accomplished for the deity even in such a short span of time.

What Leuuin did not expect, however, was to wake up. He was not in familiar territory, of that Leuuin was certain. And, somehow, Leuuin’s body felt...different. As large as he had become in life, Leuuin was now even larger. He felt slithering whenever he moved his head, but did not understand why. When Leuuin rose again and his vision became clear, he sought a nearby pool of water. Upon finding one, the Imperial glanced at his reflection. To his horror, Leuuin quickly realized he had become something many feared: an Emperor. The slithering he felt was the several other necks that had formed to his body. Or was it his? The Imperial-turned-Emperor examined himself further, recognizing his former appearance, only now he was much larger with extra necks. Fear coursed through Leuuin; prayers quickly escaping between his teeth.

There was a period of adjustment that immediately followed Leuuin’s reincarnation. For one, he was no longer in complete control of his body. Or was it proper to say their body? At times he was able to control their actions, but that control was quickly taken back by one of the other heads. Leuuin wondered what thoughts went through their minds. He couldn’t help but wonder if they thought anything at all. He knew the stories. Emperors were mindless beings, seeking nothing but to destroy everything in their path. So why was it that Leuuin’s mind was still intact?

He knew he had to do something, he just wasn’t sure what. It was clear that one particular head was in control of them all most of the time. Though, control maybe wasn’t the right word. Dominant? When Leuuin tried moving their body, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. Sometimes he could maneuver their body around the various clans and sometimes… he couldn’t. He was only grateful that he could at least control his own head.

There was no way to reverse what had happened, Leuunin knew that for sure. He couldn’t help but wonder if there was a way to control it though. Before becoming an Emperor, Leuunin had heard rumors of another dragon who dedicated their whole life to studying Emperors. Maybe if Leuunin could find them, they might be able to help… But that would mean getting in control long enough to search. Not only that, Leuunin had no idea where to search. However, he knew he had to try, while also trying to keep them out of harm’s way and away from innocent clans. He didn’t know if he would find anything or even if the rumors were true. But it was a gamble he was willing to take.

___________________________________________________________

When Leuuin learned of Luminax's existance, the Imperial was overcome with morbid curiosity. So he adjusted his route to include a detour to the emperor's location, just for a look. Maybe the visit would yield some information that could prove useful to him. Upon approaching the emperor, however, Leuuin was appalled. He watched helplessly as the entity continued its destructive march across Lightweaver's territory. Great shame washed over him as he pondered how his birth flight's deity could let such a thing come into existence. It did reinforce his determination to search for a cure of sorts for the infliction.
