______ The matriarch of the clan is just as broken as her pearl. She is fragmented, often lost in her thoughts, trying to piece together what remains of her shattered mind. The clan knows best to leave Lady Marre alone most of the time; the only time they may speak to her is when she speaks first.

Rumors about her past fly freely when Lady Marre isn't around. The most prevalent is that she once hailed from a Pearlcatcher-exclusive clan, and was cast out because of her broken pearl. Why her pearl is shattered is a mystery to the clan - and no one wants to ignite her anger with a question of "why?".

She didn't form the clan - rather, she took over. Anyone who opposed her rule was quickly dispatched, and the clan quickly learned to fear her. Lady Marre is quite the fan of "cruel and unusual punishments", and isn't afraid of dealing out a death penalty for just eating more than what's rationed. Her clan is ruled securely, and with an iron first.

That doesn't stop exceptions from slipping through, however. Suede's massive amounts of kittens, for example - it doesn't seem to make sense for him to keep them, but Lady Marre allows and even encourages it. Trove's expeditions are another oddity. He leaves without notice, and whenever he wants, and yet never receives punishment (although that may be because he brings in the money for the clan).

All in all, Lady Marre is an enigma in a broken exterior....
