And, here and there, in groves about this grass, like wildernesses of dreams, sprang up fantastic trees, whose tall slender stems stood not upright, but slanted gracefully toward the light that peered at noon-day into the centre of the valley.    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxbiography. Doe can remember the day it happened like it was yesterday. She'd always been a loyal knight to her king and country, carrying out her duties with the utmost diligence and dedication. Her family had always worked for the king's and she was proud to carry her sword and gleaming armour. She rode on the hunt with her head held high and her shoulders back, at ease with her position, knowing her birth right and ability had guided her to where she truly belonged- with no thought given to the contrary. Doe can remember that day so vividly. If she closes her eyes for long enough sometimes she's back there, watching it all in slow-motion with an ache in her fingers, and the scent of a blooming spring in her nose. She can hear the crack of the branch and feel the movement of her steed beneath her as the hunt commences. Can feel her heart pound in tandem with her adrenaline then and her flush of inexplicable panic now. Ultimately, after a hearty chase, her King had been the one to shoot the killing arrow, as was his right. And as that wretched stag bellowed out his death and the white flash of the purest, wildest magic Doe had ever witnessed overtook their hunting party, it had been Doe's duty to protect him. And it's ironic now, she can remember that day in acute detail, if anyone asks she could recite what happened to the very second. It's ironic, because she cant remember her face. She can't even remember her name. Ironic, that she cannot recall the face of the king she was so devout to, who she gave everything to. And who seemed to die in that swell of magic that ignited the air around them, regardless of her selfless act. She's sure it's him and the rest of the hunting parties bodies she awoke to find herself surrounded by. Not that she'd be able to recognise their faces anymore, even if they had any- no doubt eaten through with time and nature doing their work in tandem. Now only yellowed bones and moss covered armour remains. Doe will never know how long she lay in her magic induced slumber, but she wishes in her low moments that she had never awoken only to find her world over and everything she had earnt decimated and skeletal. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxrelations.
