Biography

Resheph - The Loimic

Resheph was born deep in the heart of the Plaguelands, and grew up in a clan that worshipped the Plaguebringer as the embodiment of death and decay, seeking to spread disease and eradicate life wherever they went in emulation of their patron. However, unlike his clanmates, Resheph believed that decay was not the final stage in the cycle life - but rather, started the cycle anew by clearing away what was old and obsolete, to make way for newer and greater lifeforms. He also believed that disease was not anathema to the cycle of life, but instead played an inextricable role in it: by ultimately forcing whatever is infected to either adapt, or die entirely, and those who survived came out stronger for it, and all the more worthy.

These clashing beliefs gradually led to conflict, and Resheph left his birth clan in search of a place where he could learn more about the Plaguebringer, and perhaps confirm the veracity of his beliefs. However, over the course of his journey, Resheph encountered many dragons who had been struck ill, inflicted with different maladies, and he was so fascinated by the different ways that disease affected a dragon's body, his focus shifted to learning more about the Plaguebringer's creations instead. His wanderings eventually led him to the Phrontistery, and when he was offered a spot and his own lab to work in, he jumped at the opportunity. These days, Resheph devotes his time to studying the way diseases work, and he will occasionally assist Asclepius in improving existing treatments (or rarely, creating a cure) for a disease. The knowledge gained has helped him learn to channel his magic more effectively.

Resheph is the sort of dragon who would rather work on things in the safety of his lab than stand in front of others to speak of his theories and findings. It's part of why he was so eager to let Kalma serve as their flight's representative instead of himself. It's not that he's shy per se, he's just not a big fan of public speaking and such.
Resheph also isn't too keen to talk about his experiences as a plague dragon- Largely because he's always been made to feel as though he doesn't quite belong due to his differing mindset. He genuinely feels like something of an outcast within his own flight and is probably more inclined to get along with those of the light or arcane flight simply because they also lean themselves more towards learning about (and understanding) things.
Resheph can get a little too wrapped up in his work sometimes and forget that he needs to eat/sleep/drink/ect. until he's literally collapsed on the floor from his body just giving out on him. (But hopefully someone's checked in on him before he ever reaches that point).
He has a particular fondness of things that have short lifespans. It sounds dark (and sort of is) but it's like their entire lives are in fast forward when compared to his own and it allows him to take in so much more about them in a shorter period of time.
He also has an interest in fungi since it's a lifeform that primarily exists because of decay. [But he's still generally fonder of looking into bacteria and viruses]
His favorite season is fall - And it's for a lot of reasons really- but he has a general fascination with the seasons and their perpetual cycle of "life and death"
