Fireworks technician. Studied under a master who believes nocnocs make the best apprentices, sent out on journeydrakeship to the Windswept Plateau by means of the master declaring intent to go there within her hearing.

Invited to every party and welcomed with enthusiastic assistance in setting up (and rapt unhelpful hatchlings underfoot). Magrat is a devout fan of the chemistry and construction of really big loud booms. Hinny tries enormously hard to catch the colored sparks even though all that's ever left in her jars are ash.


Displays none of the usual nocturne mimicry of anyone nearby; maintains clear, consistent speech patterns, gestures, opinions and attitude in every company. Eppie and Yu don't know what to make of her.

(Yu doesn't seem to believe she is a nocturne, but then he doesn't seem to recognize he's a nocturne instead of the same race as whoever's closest... unless he's just mucking with people. He must be mucking with people.)
