Boredom charted the path that led Fera to the land of Sornieth.

She was once a part of something formless, all-knowing, and terribly hungry. It wandered through time and space, devouring everything in its path and gaining immeasurable knowledge. It learned all there was to learn. Planets teeming with life were overripe fruits ready to burst, and yet no number of them would satiate its hunger. So the void continued in its single-minded pursuit. But some small part, perhaps something that had been assimilated long ago, began to take form and develop and individual will. As she grew, she named herself Fera. She did not name what had inadvertently created her. All one could ever wish to know was available to her, and yet some integral piece of understanding remained elusive. It became apparent that this was the source of their hunger. Fera slipped from her creator silently, though she knows not if this was unnoticed or simply accepted. She refuses to think that it may have been encouraged.

She felt no attachment to the entity she emerged from, which she will only describe as unimaginably cold and dark and vast. Now she hopes it dies with her memories, never to touch her new home.
