Hibiscus: struggling writer
"Just give me five more days, I'll be done by then, I swear. This just needs a few more rewrites."

Hibiscus is an expert in literary structure and a master of the written word. He loves spending time in nature, gathering ideas and writing down gothic, wordy descriptions of his surroundings. Unfortunately, he is also a very lazy dragon, and while he is passionate about his own internal worlds, he rarely sits down to write them to completion. Hibiscus is talented in short bursts, and he has no problem convincing publishers to partner with him, but after making a deal with a publisher he tends to procrastinate. Eventually forcing the company to cancel their contract with him. From time to time Hibiscus will gather up the funds to join an exploratory expedition, where he catalogues the entire journey. While he does enjoy the experiences these journeys provide, he also benefits from the business these journals bring him, as they're often published in hobbyist magazines and scientific collections, drawing more publishers to his material. Hibiscus' journeys and personal hikes in the sorienth wilderness take up the majority of his time, and they serve as his main method of meeting new people. When he crosses paths with another dragon or beastclan he makes sure to give them a scroll or page of his writing. This is how he met his familiar, Kazvana, a serthis poet who writes about the natural world. Typical of his rather bohemian lifestyle, Hibiscus has an overly complicated love life. He has had multiple mates throughout his adult life, ranging from fellow dragons, female serthis, and a powerful oceanic spirit, all of which he wooed with his writings. |
