Elle

Clan Artisan & Guard // Fashionista // Fighter

Elle hatched from an abandoned Water Egg that was found by Lunamoon and cared for by Kestie. She was the star dragonet of Kiran's Clan, loved by just about everyone, no matter their job and typical personality. Even as a toddler, Elle had the signature brand of courage that warriors possessed; when it came time for her to start learning about possible professions, every fighter in the whole of Skyreach took time to mentor her. Kiran taught her the ins and outs of elemental magic, Hystial coached her in many forms of self defense, Cornsilk instructed her in traditional Guardian fighting styles, and Vahn showed her how to be stealthy. Faroma, who almost never interacted with hatchlings, warmed up to Elle as well. The stoic Poisonmaster became somewhat of a mother to her, and even ended up passing along her fighting secrets to the quickly-growing Guardian. Elle became a competent fighter and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. This is where she would end up meeting her match- Hrathr.

While facing off against a raging Hydra, Elle came across an injured dragon from a species she had never seen before. This dragon was Hrathr, and she would eventually find out that he was a Gaoler, an intrepid warrior from the distant Southern Icefield. While attempting to get the bleeding stranger to safety, Elle let her guard slip, and her enemy caught up to them. Unbeknownst to the dragons, their Hydra opponent had been storing up unstable arcane-element magic for years, making it significantly more dangerous and nearly impossible to take down alone. Just as Hrathr made it to safety, Elle's powerful and panicked attacks caused it to go nuclear, and she alone was caught in the fray. The explosion blasted the frightened fighter with a powerful beam of arcane magic. It truly should've been fatal, but instead of dying, the Guardian underwent a metamorphosis and became a Gaoler herself. She collapsed from exhaustion and was carried home by the drake she had protected.

The cause of her transformation was never fully understood, but magic expert Siska's best guess was this: Arcane magic, when used in the Windswept Plateau, oftentimes behaved unnaturally, defying the wishes of its user. This unstable power had reacted to blood on Elle's scales (Hrathr's blood specifically) and had mutated her in a way that made her similar to it. Elle took her transformation surprisingly well, and decided to remain a Gaoler after Hrathr told her more about them. Her new mane inspired her to learn hairstyling, and soon after she began to make clothing for Ancient and Modern breeds alike. Nowadays, she spends just as much time in her design studio as she does on the battlefield, making the best of her two greatest talents.

As the first Gaoler to settle in Kiran’s Clan, Elle now has the largest role in communicating between Modern breeds, her Gaoler brethren, and the Skyreach's two Banescale residents. The aforementioned Banescales, Tavershan and Midran, are constantly at the center of Gaoler-related quarrels, and Elle has become close with both of them as a result of their frequent contact. Due to her upbringing as a Guardian, she sees nothing wrong with the fiery Ancients- she actively enjoys hanging out with them and listening to their battle stories. Her open nature and unrestrained friendliness has set the precedent for the Gaolers, whose collective rage is slowly thawing.

My apologies for taking so long! I was going through your lore. It's very interesting! i especially love Elle's story. being transformed into a gaoler via hydra is very very different i wouldnt have considered that at all. but it fits!
