• Having left her parents and siblings behind as a young drake, Anan was taking in by a nomadic clan who found her stumbling through the Thunderhead Savannah alone. Though untrained, she grew into keen seer, reading thunderstorms to direct the clan.

• However, growing very ill one summer, the dragoness' life changed dramatically as she found herself going 'blind'. Though her front eyes were clear, the eyes that grew along her sides begun to develop a cloudy haze; and with it, her prophetic visions became less frequent and clear- until finally, they ceased all together.

• Stripped of her gift, Anan's behavior became increasing erratic and she fled the clan that she had called home for so long, unable to stand the pitiful looks or hushed voices of her clanmates in her presence.

• Utterly crushed that she were deemed unworthy of His gift and now without a home, the Pearlcatcher left the Shifting Expanse; hoping that some time wandering and deep contemplation would help her realize her wrongdoings. However, contemplation only brought more anger and heartbreak for the dragon, unable to see any wrongdoing on her behalf.

• Keeping note of the Lightweaver's treatment towards the Imperials, Tidelord's abandonment of his flight, and the emerging history of the ancient breeds, her bitterness has flourished. Distrustful of the Eleven, she's begun to to rally for dragons to live independent of their deities and find new sources of magic/power.

After all, Lightning dragons are inventors at heart.
