The Fathomsearcher Fae

A Light fae who dives below oceans. The brilliant healer’s beacon on her head, intensified by her Light magic, illuminates its blackest depths, the claustrophobic shadows. Cascade has an unquenchable thirst for mysteries, adventure, and truth. After exploring all four corners of the world to her satisfaction, she turned her attention to the uncharted territory of the deep. She has no intention of stopping until the years take her. To fund her underwater explorations, Cascade was willing to do any job that paid well enough; she became a mercenary.
On one of her explorations, she found an ancient magic that lay beyond the reach of any light - and sealed it into an enchanted jug. It takes the form of an ethereal spirit fish. She can only summon it near bodies of water, but when she does, it’s a mighty force to be reckoned with, spreading to cover her wings in a cascade of shimmering aqua.
For protection, she wears dented iron armour salvaged from the Waterway.
Cascade’s sense of belonging is as fluid as the water she dives in. She feels equally connected to Light, Water and Shadow. She finds the Nightwatch clan to be a perfect in-between, given its neutrality and proximity to all three regions. In exchange for her mercenary services, she has a safe place to rest when she needs it – a valuable asset when living life on a razor-thin edge, making enemies on all sides in the name of pursuing of her dreams.

Everyone needs an exploration buddy. Cascade’s partner-in-crime is a Fathomsearch Ambassador, who follows her on expeditions into the deep seas and carries the inventory sack. When she flies to land, he does his own thing by the shoreline, waiting for her to return. He is a great help in battles that take place beside large bodies of water. Their teamwork is impeccable. They are goofy, close friends, locked in a fierce rivalry over who has the biggest seashell collection. Neither are above playful sabotage, nor does her familiar bat an eye to the idea of using his good looks to steal generous discounts from smitten marketplace sellers all across the Sea of a Thousand Currents.
