Saranus is a travelling cartographer seeking to create a map of all of Sornieth. He comes from a very large family of traders and merchants that have quite some influence within the Sunbeam Ruins where he was born. Saranus never had much of an iterest in economy, so he settled with helping his family's business in another way by making a detailed atlas of all the trade routes on the continent. Over the years, this project developed into cartographing all of the known world. The sheer scale of the task ensures that Saranus will likely spend his entire life on it, maybe without bringing it to an end. He is aware of that fact, so he is already constantly on the lookout for someone who will continue his legacy after his death.
