Since he was born, Alexei was always a frail dragon. He was pale and sickly, and while their siblings' feathers shone in vibrant shades of silver and blue in identical markings, his own were dull.
When they were old enough to fend for themself, they ran off, sick of the pitying looks of his old clanmates. He spent a few weeks in the safety of a Wind clan, but the other dragons' sadness still followed him.
One day at a market, Alexei found an old scroll, broken down by age. The scroll contained a powerful enchantment, one which could only be performed by a Light dragon.
The young Coatl spent many weeks restoring the old paper, and even longer completing the spell. When he returned to the Wind clan, their body was covered in gold and blue markings, like a scar from the magic which helped make his life a little better.
Alexei is now the clan's librarian. He keeps track of all scrolls, books and tomes that end up in the clan's possession. He is fairly skilled at maintaining and restoring old documents, and their passion for history and science led them to become one of the smartest dragons.
