Biography

Sedimentary - The Geokinetic

Sedimentary was hired by Zoroark after the latter had noticed that the mesa that the Phrontistery was carved out of was at risk of collapse due to a variety of factors, including but not limited: to the usage of water magic in lair expansions, the slapdash, unplanned nature of said expansions, and the antics of two certain hyperactive Wind Spirals. After some searching, he found Sedimentary, and contacted her with a proposal to repair and reinforce the Phrontistery, which she readily agreed to.

Though the arrangement was initially temporary in nature, with the understanding that Sedimentary would take her leave after completing the job (as was befitting her role as a freelancer), fate took a decidedly unexpected turn. Within two days of Sedimentary's arrival, the Phrontistery found itself under siege by a Serthis sect. The Serthis were able to injure several dragons, badly poisoning one - an Imperial named Lux - in the process. When Sedimentary found out about the poisoned dragon, she quickly rushed to the entrance of the Phrontistery, and swiftly dealt with the Serthis using her powers by trapping them in a gully and then launching a boulder on top of them. Afterwards, she volunteered to stay with the Phrontistery on a more permanent basis. She now maintains the Phrontistery's structural integrity, carving out new spaces and reinforcing existing rooms as needed. Her ability to sculpt rock as if it were clay is extremely helpful, allowing any renovations that would otherwise require extensive excavation to be completed far more easily, with less damage to the mesa and less risk of reducing structural integrity.

Name: Sedimentary (Sedi)

Designation: The Geokinetic

Role(s): Lair Maintenance, Expansion

Field(s)/Specialt(y/ies): Geokinesis, Building, Architecture, Structural Engineering (Buildings)

Other: Though more of a hands on dragon, she has expressed a desire to incorporate theoretical knowledge into her geokinesis. All the reference materials that the Phrontistery has on Architecture and Structural Engineering have been made available to her - if a book covering either of those topics is not available, whoever's requesting the book should be directed to Sedi's den.

Trauma due to previous negative experiences with Serthis prior to joining the Phrontistery - try not to pair her up with Thane, Zephyr, or Seth. See addendum for more information.

Addendum: She is making considerable progress in unpacking her trauma. Although she still holds some prejudice against Serthis, she has come a long way from where she initially begun. She has even cooperated with Zephyr on one occasion.

Note: Motion to establish a new Group: The Fulmineous Phrontistery rule: Do not disrupt User: Sedi's sleep. When she cannot sleep in her bed, she gets red in the head. — Wyvern
Motion passed. - Zoroark

  • The only way this dragon could be any more earth-bound would be if she were a Snapper, so strong is her connection to the ground below her feet. Her connection is so strong that, much like the afromentioned dragons, she rarely leaves the ground to fly- if at all- for doing so would mean she must abandon the safety and energy she receives from the soil and dirt below her claws. As a result, Sedimentary has become a poor flier at best, but she can navigate by using Sornieth's magnetic fields like no one's business.
  • Sedi is often seen completely covered in dust, dirt, and other such dry elements. Always dry, though, never wet. Being a Ridgeback already makes her prone to disliking water, but with her earth affinity, this is only made her dislike stronger. It is unknown whether she can swim or not, and she isn't going to try any time soon.
  • Sedi is absolutely KILLER at finding gemstones and metal deposits. The denser the material, the easier it is for her to quite literally sniff it out and dig it up with razor sharp claws, adapted more for digging than actual clawing and cutting up foes. This doesn't mean she can't completely destroy an enemy if she so wishes, though.
  • Sedi's den is located rather deep underground, connected to the rest of her clan via a tunnel she dug out herself over a few days. It's a large cavern illuminated by soft yellow light, and the walls shine and flicker with veins of gold and other precious metals. The occasional gemstone sticks out here and there, casting colorful reflections onto the walls around her. It's a very serene place, And always smells cool and faintly of pine needles (a personal favorite of hers, which she uses to carpet her floors with)
