Biography

Basilius - The Phytologist

Along with Devin, Basilius was one of the two dragons initially brought in by Zoroark as part of a project to make the Phrontistery more self-sufficient. Like his partner, he is rarely seen within the Phrontistery proper - they usually prefer to remain within the greenhouses and attached laboratories that serve as her and Devin's workspace, only venturing out for food, or if she's summoned. On rare occasions, they'll even accompany Devin on expeditions.

Together, she and her partner have cultivated a variety of plants, ranging from modified versions of preexisting species designed for greater yield, to selectively bred cultivars, and even some hybrid species, all flourishing in one of the Phrontistery's many greenhouses. Of course, for every transgenic plant created, ethical requirements such as non-maleficence and beneficence are adhered to.

Role(s): Researcher/Scientist

Field(s)/Specialt(y/ies): Botany, Horticulture, Genetic Engineering and Modification

Other: One of the two dragons brought in by Zoroark as part of a project to make the Phrontistery more self-sufficient. Usually stays in their greenhouse, working on their project - which involves enhancing existing plants through a variety of techniques, such as selective breeding, artificial pollination, and genetic modification. Of course, this being the Phrontistery, Basilius does have to wrangle quite a few dangerous plants, and the only reason why they don't accompany Devin more often is because they'd much rather stay indoors.

Basilius is genderfluid, and goes by he/him, she/her, and they/them pronouns.

"What're my pronouns, you ask? Yes."
