Biography
MING, THE SECRETARY
Ming presents herself as a perfect fairy-tale princess in practically every way save for her job - the secretary to Mother Bitestrith. Her sense of style, mannerisms, and distrust of dirt and dank suggest breeding from a higher class; guesses that are not too far off from the truth. Born to a merchant family of high social standing, Ming found the passing of her parents to be more of a blessing in disguise than the tragedy her clan regarded it as. She had never grown close to them, always hoisted off to various high-bred aunts and uncles who took no shortage of pleasure in dressing her up, teaching her how to properly hold tea cups, and scolding her ears red whenever she so much as raised her voice. Taking their early demise as an excuse to escape more of the same - except, she suspected that this time, the “hoisting” would find herself within the care of an unwanted suitor - Ming was quick to find her way to Mavenlark. Not only had her parents’ business had often made stops at the massive trade center, any traveler worth their salt knows that Mavenlark’s size and sprawling refugee camps lends itself to being the perfect place to leave an unwanted identity behind. Ming was immediately entranced not only by the goals that Mavenlark was founded on upon her arrival there - which Bazeltooth was only too happy to talk her ear off about - but by the clan leader, Mother Bitestrith. Luckily for Ming, Bitestrith was just as entranced by the newcomer as well. Quickly noticing the tundra’s aptitude for detail, she appointed Ming as her personal secretary. ...the two may have also engaged in a passionate romantic relationship, eventually drawing Bitestrith’s “true” mate, Ark, into the mix, but that bit of information is generally not shared with the public. Ming is always appreciative of a kind word and a fine cup of tea.
Duties: Secretarial work, book-keeping, public opinion monitoring.
Written by Hyzenthlaay.
Trivia
- Ming's favorite type of tea is peppermint.
- Ming is occasionally heckled by the merchants visiting Mavenlark that know her relatives in an attempt at shaming her home.
- Ming enjoys romance novels with a perfect steam-to-trash ratio.
- Despite how delicate she appears, Ming could easily bench a dragon twice her size. All of that running around as a secretary has given her some serious strength.
- Ming is technically the adoptive mother to Seraphina, the clan's next-in-line after Bitestrith.
