subspecies: SEAHAWK

Species: Skydancer
Colors: Coal-Black 1 & 2, Cream-White 3 (Antique preferred)
Genes: Falcon/Peregrine/Scales
Owner: bonibaru

The Seahawk is a raptor-like dragon that hunts fish and other marine life in the Sea of a Thousand Currents using their strong wings to hover and dive, their sharp eyes to spot their prey in the water, and their razor-sharp talons to spear and disable each meal. Seahawks do not live in large flocks. They are solitary hunters who are very territorial and will attack and fight off any other carnivorous species that encroaches on their territory. They nest seasonally in mating pairs but split up outside of their annual breeding season. Usually Seahawks will be seen near the shoreline hunting the shallows, but occasionally they venture farther out over deeper water in search of larger food sources especially when they have a nest of young to feed. They may migrate to other flights but always must live near adequate water sources to nest and feed.

Because they are solitary and interact rarely with other dragons, Seahawks have an air of mystery about them which has caused some superstitious lore to spring up in areas where they are frequently seen. Other dragons consider Seahawks to be messengers from the spirit world. If a Seahawk appears to another dragon in a dream, this is taken very seriously as an omen, possibly a communication from a deceased friend or relative. Such a dream may be taken to an oracle or sage for a meaningful interpretation.
