Xanuro, of Her Gaping Maw
He is her mouth, and he has all of the endless hunger that comes with it.
He is her mouth, and he has all of the endless hunger that comes with it.
Despite being a Mirror for the first year of his life, Xanuro felt itchy. his mirror fins were too thick and heavy, his head was the wrong shape, everything was wrong.
Then the Veilspun came out of hiding.
Despite being a loyal Ice dragon, he'd never understood turning into an Ancient. Gaolers were too strict for his liking, Banescales were loud and rude, and even many other modern breeds were intolerable. But when he saw the Veilspun, he knew that was what he wanted.
Despite being very new to the lair and knowing he would leave for a spot in a Tangled Wood lair, he asked his hosts if they would help him. They were shockingly good about it, paying for not only the breed change, but the scrolls as well, piling his arms when they went to the Marketplace that day.
As soon as he applied the scroll, he knew this was how he was meant to be. The flowing mane, the tiny antlers, the long ears, everything felt right.
However, something was missing.
But Xanuro had prepared for this. He took the Tertiary Gene scroll and applied it.
green-and-yellow wings unfurled from his ankles, his wrists, from under his primary wings, and lastly, from by his ears. He rejoiced at having thinner, smaller fins, as those were the only bits of his mirror self he genuinely liked, and he felt less himself without them.
