"Out of the ash/ I rise with my red hair /and I eat men like air."
Dawn breaks on the Heartlands and immediately the air starts to smell of burning. An unassuming pile of ash is starting to crackle and spit like a firework, occasionally showering anyone nearby with sparks of light and soot.  The crackling gets louder and more violent until suddenly, scales smoldering and eyes ablaze, an entire dragon climbs out of the ashes. He pauses to shake off the soot and stretches his brilliant wings wide, jaws open in a roar to announce his rebirth.
This is Phoenix, the dragon blessed with reincarnation and Heartland's most treasured warrior.

"Must you be so dramatic every time you do this?"  sighs the golden Wildclaw, Saint, eyes rolling.

"Oh! I'm sorry! I don't see any other dragons around here with the ability to come back to life." Phoenix snorts indignantly.

"Yes dear, but no other dragons around here manage to get themselves killed six times in one week."
