Biography

Cancionbrisa
Soul Thief
Chaotic Good

PkKAmaj.png
It's a dangerous world out there, so Cancionbrisa counts herself lucky to be a guardian. Protected by impenetrable scales, larger than nearly any threat, and in control of powerful wind magic - she's basically invincible! But other dragons aren't quite so lucky. Especially pearlcatchers. Their pearl is their soul? And it's out in the open, where anything could happen to it? No, that's unacceptable! Cancionbrisa has taken it upon herself to make sure every pearlcatcher's soul is safe, whatever the cost. That's her charge. Well, probably. There's a lot of pearls out there, and Cancionbrisa is pretty sure one of them is her charge. She'll find it in the process of protecting the rest.

Not that any pearlcatchers seem to want Cancionbrisa's help. She doesn't get why. Their pearls are important, and there's nowhere safer in the clan than under Cancionbrisa's protection. She will guard their souls, whether they want her to or not! Even if it'll require a little bit of... how do the ridgebacks say it? Borrowing?

That sounds good. After all, it's not like Cancionbrisa won't give the pearls back when they're needed for... soul things. What do they do with those pearls, anyways? Maybe it'd be okay if she poked around with them a bit, while she's doing the guarding part. They'd never notice. And if they do, some of the legendary Cancionbrisa charm should smooth things over.

Actually, Cancionbrisa's charm is so legendary that she scares herself sometimes. She can't control it, but whenever she's excited about something, other dragons (especially wind dragons, she's noticed) are infected with her excitement and will do pretty much anything to help her. Sometimes it seems like Cancionbrisa's charm even works on herself! After all, she wouldn't have normally tried to raid the vault, even if at the time she was convinced that some sort of creature was trapped inside. No one in their right mind would ever try to fight Sirene head-on. And yet she and a number of other clan members got swept up in the excitement and thought it was a great idea.

(Even 10 v 1, they all got thrashed.)

Still, Cancionbrisa did manage to talk her way out of being punished for attempting to rob the vault. It had been close to Sirene's birthday, so Cancionbrisa claimed the imperial had been looking bored and so she'd decided to give her something to do. And since Sirene is the sort of dragon who enjoys a good scrap over a party, holding a pretend heist had seemed like a good idea. Jacó bought it... but Cancionbrisa's crew did too and they didn't appreciate having been 'deceived'. At least none of them were expecting to get any loot from the whole escapade.

Other dragons tend to be the ones giving Cancionbrisa things anyways, not the other way around. They'll trip over their own tails in a rush to be the one to bring Cancionbrisa something she vaguely mentioned wanting. And then they'll be rushing back a few minutes later, have decided that no, Cancionbrisa can't have all their valuable stuff and they want it back. They even have the gall to blame her for it! She's not the one willingly giving away all their valuables for no good reason. She doesn't even want their stuff! There's better shiny things in her hoard back in her den anyways.

Cancionbrisa hates it when other dragons suggest that she's a thief. When has she ever tried to steal anything? Well, fine, when has she ever tried to steal something on purpose?

Algimas once turned his weapon on her, believing her to actually be some sort of fiend that stole souls. She was able to explain the situation quite quickly (if only the others were so understanding) and the two have been friends since. Much heroic posturing about protecting others happens between the two of them.
