Fangback Figurine
Personality/Background

Byron was infected with the Nosos Virus when he was still a hatchling. He cannot remember a time without pain nor the family that left him for dead. When he finally emerged from his feverish dreams, his vision was blurred and his once vibrant plumage pale and blotched. How did he survive? Why did none of the scavengers and predators of the Scarred Wasteland touch his frail body and end his suffering? Byron doesn’t know. Maybe they sensed his illness and shied away from it. Or his parents cast a protection spell over their son’s presumed dead body. A last and foolish sign of parental love and care. Though Byron is not very sentimental, he likes to believe the last explanation. Because it would imply, he had meant something to somebody once. That he had been loved and cherished. Now, dragons shy away from him as he is so obviously sick. His faded plumage and constant coughing give his condition away, there is no way to hide it. Byron is torn between understanding and frustration by the reactions of his fellow dragons. He does not wish to impair his curse on anyone else and there have been rumors about utilizing Blooming Afflicted like him as weapons. Thus, Byron is weary if dragons seem too friendly and understanding. And yet he yearns for a place to call home, and dragons to call friends. Despite his debilitating illness and the rejection he faces constantly, Byron has maintained a positive and almost cheerful demeanor.
