Vayle

Vayle was yet again in the search of Saelius. She’s certain that her mate has gone off path again, most likely caught up in thought. Her mate was wont to wander when she thinks deeply.

Vayle had spent most of her life in pursuit of her, both figuratively and literally. When she was younger, a teenage Saelius had gone up to the largest, most imposing looking dragon in the town square and asked her for directions. She shudders to think what would have become of her mate should fate had taken a different course.

In all honesty, the beloved of her heart was her ward. It was Vayle’s job to keep watch of her and to keep her from harm’s way, so much so that these thoughts and feelings manifested her into a body that many would take as masculine, to better deter those that would think to take advantage of a heart so pure. As she pondered, she saw the distinctive swirling pattern of a fin designed to cut through water tear through mist and hurried in that direction.

Vayle keeps a shed scale of her partner on her at all times. It helps her feel connected to her even when she wanders off or is busy in her own thoughts. A bell is kept on her person at all times in the case that Saelius wanders off, the delightful chime of the loud bell will entice her closer through the mist. The risk of attracting monsters is a miniscule price to pay for a mate found safe and sound. A gift given to her by Saelius, it was a gift given in response to the Diamond Ring. Her mate often will lovingly run it through her beard to keep it looking lustrous.
