History:
Lanyla was born to a traveling clan, and split off as an ambitious fledgling. She apprenticed under a jeweler in Dragonhome for long enough to become confident in her skills and connections, building a collection of what she herself made and what she collected from others, until she had an impressive store of unique pieces. She opened a store of her own to sell these pieces. Small trinkets like charms, pendants, and silver rings would go fairly quickly, and she was always happy to adjust the size to be perfect. But she also had elaborate creations that were priced much higher and stood on her shelves for years and years. She didn't mind, as she made well enough to get by and happily sit at the back behind the desk working on new pieces as inspiration struck.
Whenever she tired of her routine, she'd go off on extravagant trips across the world. Sometimes with friends, sometimes with a passing flame, but many times just on her own. She loved experiencing different cultures, savouring the food, seeing the sights... and of course, trading for new bits to add to her collection!
She was happy for a long time, but as times changed, things started going wrong. More was being nicked from her store, some competitors were getting paranoid and aggressive. All little things, echoing out from several large clans nearby getting into altercations with local longnecks that lost them their lairs, and a general air of strife and hostility from events like the breaking of the nature-plague treaty, especially for a dragon born in the former's territory (even though she'd lived most of her life in Dragonhome, and all the locals knew it).
Fearing her collection was in peril, Lanyla decided to pack it all up and retire somewhere safe. She still wanted to make things, and would part with pieces for the right price, but she figured she was of an age where she could find a merchant to handle such things on her behalf.
She ended up getting in touch via an old friend with a mirror named Plumbago who'd recently been helping to establish permanent market grounds in a small Nature clan by the name of the Droseran Domain. Lanyla decided to come meet with her personally, and in looking around the Domain, figured it seemed like a nice enough place to stay. A good change, and maybe the wanderlust wouldn't itch so much if she settled down in the Flight she was elementally aligned with.
Current Situation: A recent retiree, Lanyla has chosen the Droseran Domain as her new home. Tired of running her shop, shooing away thieves and whatnot, she lets Plumbago handle the trading while she handles important business like gossiping with Meerelie, Lillifer, and Emerald.
