Biography

All it took was a split second. A single moment of distraction. Occupied by the tussle with an intruding gladebeast, the mother did not notice the flash of black and white as an intruder dashed to her nest. And by the time she returned it was too late. One of her precious eggs were gone. With an excited grin, a brilliant idea, and a gentle grasp, Calypso flew back to the Atrium as fast as she could, clutching her precious find to her chest. It was a valuable asset, a chance to create something fearsome. Something that would benefit the Bloodscale and a creature to combat the Gladekeeper's new monsters. She just had to keep it quiet for now. |
Calypso kept the egg hidden in her lair as she ventured across the plaguelands, stealing mirror eggs for nests. She kept this up till she had four Mirror eggs and the egg from the Gladebeast. The wildclaw then took the five eggs to the Wyrmwound. She cracked the four mirror eggs and dumped them in a basket with the gladebeast egg before throwing it directly into the Wyrmwound. It was all up to the Plaguebringer now. It had been a large gamble since the start and now it was time to see if her efforts would work.
After hours of gazing into the infectious cauldron she finally saw the basket bubble back to the surface. Swiftly, she carefully fished it our and peered inside. It had worked! The contents of the mirror eggs were gone, absorbed into the Gladebeast egg which now pulsated and moved as if something inside it had begun crawling around. Overjoyed, Calypso hurried back to her lair to begin incubation.
The creature that hatched was without a doubt a beast.
It's body more resembled that of a Mirror yet was massive compared to other hatchlings Calypso had seen. It had six legs, four wings, two tails and a pair of nubs atop it's head that would soon grow into mangled antlers. The creature had also, somehow, retained the green eyes of the nature flight, but that mattered not. Her plan had succeeded.
The first thing they were aware of was a voice calling to them. "Xile, my beautiful Xile." The voice cooed to them. They hated it. They liked it. They feared it. They loved it. They wanted to kill it. They opened their eyes to see a creature in front of them. The black and white creature seemed excited. She seemed fragile. She was strong. She was too loud. I can't hear her. They watched as she left, returning with other creatures. The newcomers seemed horrified, snarling and snapping at the black and white one. They roared in return, pulling to their feet and growling at the ones who threatened the black and white one. We'll protect her. I hate her. We can't save her. We are strong enough. What are we? The others approached. NO. DON'T GET NEAR US. They ran, jumping out the window and then they were gone.
Xile is a violent, feral creature that roams the territory belonging to the Bloodscale clan. They are a beast that contains the consciousness of five different dragons all scrambling for control of the emperor sized behemoth they inhabit. While they have not been know to attack the members of the clan or the scouts, they have slaughtered many unknown dragons that have wandered too close.
Unlike the Gladebeasts that Calypso had seen, Xile is able to fly for a short time thanks to their four feathered wings, though they seem to prefer to walk or run.
It is advised that clan members do not approach Xile because even though they seem to be somewhat intelligent and aware, their behaviors and actions are too unpredictable to be safe since you never know which conscious Xile will act upon.
Xile is to be avoided at all costs.
