 To the others, it was as if she'd just appeared out of thin air. One minute none had even heard of her, and the next she was among them, with no one ever questioning how or why.

She has been with them for a long time now, since before the ship was even built, though she does not serve in a position of leadership. In fact, for the most part, she prefers to keep to herself. She is quiet, and though it would be misleading to call her "shy", she possesses neither social skills nor the desire to indulge in any form of small talk. Only Yomen, who she has previously explained to be a distant cousin of hers, is capable of drawing her out of her proverbial shell.

Given how long she's spent in their presence, it's become impossible for anyone not to have noticed the way the air around her sometimes appears to flicker, as if some combination of a heat mirage and a skipping video. Or the way a shadow seems to follow her — but one that is not her own.

Maybe this is why she so readily agreed with the idea of traveling to the stars. After all, her familial curse may have the power to warp the world itself — but it still is nothing compared to what lurks in the heavens.
