Jay was born into a humble lightning clan. From a young age, he loved to do one thing, dance. He was elegant, spinning and twirling with ease. while it was an odd thing for a Wildclaw to do, his parents never minded. The only thing they minded was how he'd refuse to do things like eat meat, fight, or battle. They made sure to explain fighting and battling were different. Battling was defending the clan, being a warrior. Fighting was to protect yourself or your honor. Jay didn't do either. His parents tried hard to ignore how much it bothered them, but they hated that their son wouldn't use his claws. Jay too tried to ignore things, like how his parents clearly liked his siblings more for fighting. Both parents and child failed to ignore their issues. Instead, Jay left in a huff, sick of feeling inferior. He didn't know where he'd go, but he felt he could never leave Lightning. That's when a dragon found and brought Jay to a clan he'd think was hell.

They were nice at first, even though Jay couldn't be of much use. They were researchers that studied the Shade and things like it. Jay didn't mind and chose to be an assistant, running errands for the hard workers. Sure, it was boring and hard work at times but he didn't mind. He liked watching them all work and felt helpful. That was until they started doing different kinds of testing. They started using lost eggs in their experiments. Because of this, Jay lost his ability to see as much of the labs since it was classified. Whenever he'd try to see, he was harassed by the guards. They'd hit on him, push him around if they got too annoyed, and left scars. He was at their mercy at times, becoming just a way to pass time for the awful guards while they watched the secret experiments. Jay didn't report it, thinking he was just helping the dragons. It wasn't until he finally told someone was when it got better. He wasn't telling a clan member, not technically. He was the first experiment he was allowed to see.

He was a scary mirror, black with red wings. What was scary was how he had a red pattern on his body. It seemed to move, and that's what scared Jay. The wildclaw did his best to hide his fear, but the mirror could tell. Jay was tasked to feeding the mirror, and sometimes treating wounds. The mirror was always strapped down to a table, a muzzle covering his mouth. He was an angry mess. Jay often had to recoil at first, their meetings panic attacks for Jay. after a while the mirror warmed up to Jay slowly. It started with Jay feeding him without the mirror trying to bite, and soon Jay could even treat his wounds. The mirror said his name was Red, and he was a half breed. Jay didn't get it at first, it was common that no dragon had just one breed of a dragon as a parent. Slowly, as Red seemed to do things, he explained why he was here. He was mixed with a thing called a demon. It was like the shade, but they existed here before. Jay laughed it off, but Red told him to touch the red spots on his body. Jay was startled by this, no one ever getting to come near them normally. When Jay touched the marks, they were extremely hot. Jay chuckled, calling Red a heater.

When the scientists saw this happen, they realized Jay could help them crack Red. They began letting the guards hurt and abuse Jay again, within earshot of Red. Jay hated it but did his best not to let his friend know about all this. Red only found out because of the scientists telling him. That seemed to be Red's limit. He went wild, his spots flaring wildly. Red broke out and slaughtered anyone hurting Jay. The wildclaw was startled and tried to calm the mirror. Nothing worked, and Red continued to attack and kill. Soon Jay found the only solution was to knock him out. Jay grabbed Red and ran away. Red was heavy, but Jay didn't care. He ran for what felt like ages. He finally fell over when they got out of Lightning territory. Red came to, and together they became loners.

They wandered the world, unsure where they could exist without judgment. Jay fell for Red, but Red confessed first. They became mates and found peace with one another. When they reached shadow territory, Red smelled blood. A large imperial had taken down a large stag and was dragging it somewhere. While Jay hated meat, Red was nuts about it. Without thinking he jumped out and tried fighting the Imperial. Before Jay could try to stop him, he saw a smiling tundra. She waved him over, and the two talked. Amira, as the tundra was called, lived with the imperial. Jay explained how he worried for his mate, Red. Amiria chuckled, pointing out how they were already done fighting. Jay looked over and saw Red and the imperial sharing a flask and eating the stag. Soon The two walked over, and Red explained that he'd be joining Nickolas, the imperial. Jay looked shocked but nodded. Jay told him simply that wherever Red went, he'd follow. The two joined Nickolas, being the second and third members ever of his upcoming clan. Jay loves chatting with Amira, often passing the time enjoying tea and pastries. While they don't fight, they're both very important to the clan.
