Harper can manipulate the emotions and feelings of others so that they have feel what he is feeling, desire the same desires he wishes. Weaker-willed minds will be converted to only desire to fulfill his wants, while more disciplined creatures can still be confused by the sudden intrusion of alien thoughts and ideas. The smoke Harper is fond of is a mix of psychogenic herbs that heightens emotions and the feeling of connectedness. Harper has become naturalized to the effect of the smoke. Others that inhale the smoke tend to become disinhibited, more emotional, and sympathetic to those around them. This makes affected dragons easier to manipulate both verbally and with his magic.

Harper is chaotic neutral and uses his power for pleasure. He is a hedonist that loves Stuff and Good Food, and will use his powers to convince others to "share the love." Harper is a romantic asexual and bonded to Dashing. He is quite fond of her. She makes the perfect guard, is quite the wit to converse with, and is SO suppressed that he feels he just Must teach her how to have some Fun.

Dashing is a dhampir. Harper has convinced the spiral female to indulge her more sanguine cravings. His empathy magic allows her victims to want nothing more than to sate her bloodlust and will feel the same joy she does when feeding. He is sporatically teaching her the same magic after he learned that vampire bloodlines have an affinity for such magic. Dashing is a diligent and willing student but the subject does not come easily to the tacturn spiral. Charming is also not the best teacher... Dashing has been willing to learn such majics as a way to minimize damage now that she has given into blood, a very boring goal for the Nocturn.
