 ▬▬ ABOUT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Kakyoin has always been a bit of a social outcast. Even when he was he was young, he would refuse to play with the other hatchlings; instead occupying himself with books, study, and the occasional art piece. Neither his parents nor the other dragons of the Guild could figure out why he isolated himself this way, no matter how much they tried. "He's weird," some would say. "He just sits there on his own, sketching and talking to himself." He was never outright bullied by the other hatchlings, but they tended to shy away from him- he never reached out for interaction on his own, so what was the point? The real reason for this self-isolation was because Kakyoin had developed a manifestation of his psychic energy and fighting spirit in his very early life- something that he would later come to know as a Stand. Hierophant wasn't always called Hierophant, but he was an ever-present part of Kakyoin's life that was incredibly difficult to ignore. He tried to show his Stand to many other dragons, both fellow hatchlings and his older relatives and mentors, but he was quick to realise that nobody else could see his green friend. Kakyoin couldn't stand to be friends with anyone who couldn't see such an integral part of himself, and if nobody else on Sornieth could see Hierophant, so be it. They could keep their "imaginary friends" and leave Kakyoin to bond with his own very real one. After a catastrophe in his old clan left him half-blind and at risk of losing his eyesight entirely, Kakyoin fled to a new clan who took him in and tended his wounds. None of them could see Hierophant either... Except for one. A shiny blue Mirror by the name of Himmelhotum was preparing to leave the Guild to travel just as Kakyoin was beginning his recovery from the ordeal at his old home. He also had an incorporeal being standing next to him, breathing in sync with him, following his every footstep. At the time, Kakyoin was too weak to process this information properly, but as he recovered he realised he had just met his first fellow Stand user- and the Mirror seemed to know too. When Kakyoin recovered fully from his wounds, the Guild's courier came to him with a pair of thick-rimmed black glasses and a note from Himmelhotum; signed, stating simply: "Stand users attract other Stand users." It took a blink for Kakyoin to realise what this meant. He hadn't met face-to-face with any fellow Stand users in his whole life, and the one other Stand user he had made contact with had left the Guild just as he arrived. Soon enough, though, he bumped into a frantic fugitive on one of his lonesome walks on the shore of the Water territories. At the sight of the green-clad Skydancer, the other dragon mustered the last of his strength to waddle carelessly towards him and collapse at his feet, pleading and begging for help. The Guild had helped Kakyoin before, so he saw no reason to leave the Pearlcatcher on the beach, but when Kakyoin summoned his Stand to assist in moving the exhausted dragon, the other's colourless eyes darted to the space Hierophant occupied. He also seemed to be able to see the shiny silver-and-green tentacles wrapping themselves around his drained body, just before his conciousness slipped away. Kakyoin and Hierophant carried the unconscious dragon back to the Guild's outpost, trying not to think about what the Pearlcatcher seemed to be looking at but letting his mind wander anyway- maybe he just felt me wrapping around his body, maybe he's so cold and exhausted he's hallucinating something next to me, maybe it was an involuntary spasm, maybe... But when the pale dragon woke up the next morning, he waited outside Kakyoin's quarters for him to wake up too, and when he did, the first words the Pearlcatcher uttered to him were: "Stand users attract other Stand users." ▬▬ ADDITIONAL ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
