When you hear the name Zeus, what first comes to your mind? The notable Zeus from Greek mythology, I could only assume. But what makes him so memorable? His power, his status, sure, but what else? I might also say Zeus' anger played a pretty big role in who he was as a character. How any of this relates to this dragon I will explain shortly.

Thunder, with the vapors of the clouds and the electricity of the storms flowing through his veins, is practically the dragon-form of Zeus. However, there is one key factoid that we must not forget: unlike Zeus, Thunder is kind and not easily angered. This is what sets the two apart and lets us remember that they are two different beings, however with similar powers.

As a young dragon, Thunder was always quite playful and mischievous, getting himself into all sorts of trouble from his elder clanmates. It also didn't help that at the time, he was just starting to get control over the elements of the sky.

One instance in his youth, Thunder was sent out to hunt as many pieces of prey as he could carry, as a sort of punishment for an earlier troublesome act. As the imperial was closing in on a completely unaware sparrow, he wished that there could be something to help him with his tiresome penalty. Thunder leapt after his prey, annoyed from his snout to the tip of his tail.

But he had been clumsy. He had stepped on a fallen branch, alerting the sparrow of his presence. It flew away in startled fright. Thunder had let out a cry of indignation, knowing it would be useless to chase after it. But no sooner had the thought of somehow killing it in the air crossed his mind when from the dark clouds overhead erupted a lightning bolt. It struck the sparrow so fast, Thunder could do nothing but stand and stare in shock at the limp form now resting on the forest floor as his namesake rumbled deafeningly above the land.

Having such power scared him at the time, but now that he has learned how to control it, Thunder is content with it.

But however nice these abilities may be, there is still one thing Thunder loves more than anything else the world has to offer: his lovely mate Osaka. Thunder would do anything to make sure his mate's safe, even if that required sacrificing his own safety to let that happen.

"I sense there's something between us," Osaka mused one evening as they lay cuddled up together in the clan's royalty den.

"Oh?" Thunder turned his head to meet his partner's gaze. "Love?" he guessed with a grin.

Osaka chuckled and replied, "Something more. . . intense." The nocturne paused for dramatic effect, then said, "Electric love." He gave Thunder a charming wink.

Thunder let out a rumbling laugh. "Quite literally, it seems."
