Too often, Haeln's shop would be too big. Things she could reach just yesterday or even tomorrow, she couldn't reach next week or right now. Simultaneously, the Pearlcatcher often felt like the shop would shrink--the size fluctuating before her eyes as she grabs at the icing sugar. This wasn't something Haeln often talked about with other dragons as she'd been mocked before for her strange thoughts.

Did the shop actually shrink, or did she grow larger? Well, most likely, Haeln imagined it. Unfortunately, reality wasn't often a solid thing-- concept, thought?--in her life. And so the ingredients would move around sometimes as well, like magic, like they had legs! Little legs to waddle them around! What a sweet image... Maybe long, gangly arms that flipped them to the other side of the shop? Whatever it was that moved her sugar to where her products are meant to sit, or the butter on top of the register, Haeln didn't mind.

The sweet shop was Haeln's favourite thing in the world--is and will be her favourite for all eternity--but oh! Customers! Haeln loved the customers! Oohing and aahing over her delectable desserts and chewy candy! Yes, the customers were lovely! Not to forget the hatchlings! Little hatchlings with their little grubby paws and claws. Little hatchlings whose eyes glittered like the sprinkles across Haeln's bench, and whose insistent cries over her newest batch of toffee enticed the small ones like nothing ever has.

She's so proud! Proud of being able to lead hordes of hatchlings everywhere like the Pied Piper. 'The Candy Connoisseur' in her case, if you will. Creating confectionery is her purpose in life and she devoted herself to it completely. Haeln will always be creating something new and delicious! She definitely will!
