Despite her fire element, Karima had been raised amongst the ruins of the Lightweaver's glowing territory- her "native" lands as her parents often prattled on about. They were standard pearlcatchers, all things considered; mages of decent potential who kept to their books and prestigiously strict record keeping with a zealous dedication. Knowledge was power and power was priceless according to the two, who both smiled often yet their warm expressions left their daughter feeling cold and lost. For the many eye child had no interest in her parents' wealth of literature or any study for that matter. She burned with the delightful need to explore, even as she grew out of her hatchling days. In fact, Karima only grew bolder and more adventurous as she aged, matched only by her further inability to linger in one place for long. And, eventually--after many failed attempts to try to fit in the scholarly image her parents made--, she made the difficult decision to spread her wings and fly far beyond the confines of the clan's small isolated lair. The pearlcatcher never settled into one area for too long as she crossed the continent in her curious search of adventure. A many clans welcomed her into their arms, of which she truly loved and was thankful for, but still she had been called elsewhere by her wandering soul.
